College of the Canyons Takes Early Lead in Supremacy Standings

With the end of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball conference season two weeks ago, the 2017-2018 Fall Sports are officially in the books. With that in mind, College of the Canyons has taken an early lead in the 2017-2018 Western State Conference Supremacy Standings with the Spring still too come. The Cougars who won three straight Supremacy titles from 2013-2015, leads the way with an average 7.13 points per sport. Los Angeles Valley College (6.50) is currently in second place, while Ventura College (6.13) rounds out the top three.

Canyons raced to the top of the WSC Supremacy Standings with three Fall conference championships (Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, and Women’s Basketball), and a trio of runner up finishes in Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Golf, and Men’s Basketball. The Cougars earned points in all but one of the eight sports it competed in this Fall.

LA Valley meanwhile, earned points in all five of its sports, including a pair of conference titles in Men’s Water Polo and Women’s Basketball. Ventura also proved to be very efficient with points in seven of its eight sports, including doubling up with titles in Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Santa Barbara City College (6.00) and Citrus College (5.20) rounded out the top five in the conference.
