SYLMAR - The Marauder baseball team lost its second game in a row to LA Mission College, 5-3, Thursday afternoon at LA Mission College.
AVC scored two runs in the top of the second inning to take a 2-0 lead after an error by LA Mission that scored Arturo Sanchez and an RBI single by Clayton Rabiej. The Marauders further extended their lead with a run in the top in the fourth inning following back-to-back doubles by Rabiej and Ian Nelson.
The Eagles responded with three runs in the fifth and sixth inning combined. LA Mission finally got over the hump in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the score tied 3-3, the Eagles benefitted from three past balls and two hits to score two runs taking a 5-3 lead.
The Marauders got two runners on in the top of the ninth inning but failed to score a run sealing the game for LA Mission.
Rabiej had three hits for the Marauders and Sanchez, John Serrato and Travis Tarnoff collected too hits apiece for AVC.
