In their first game of the season the Spartan women's soccer team played well.  Against a seasoned Santa Monica College team that was a state playoff participant last year the Spartans held their own.  Two of those chances were scored by sophomore Peyton Brittain (Fallbrook High School).

After trailing 3-1 at halftime MiraCosta made some adjustments and late in the second half freed Brittain up for her second goal which brought the Spartans within one goal. 

The Spartans are next in action on Friday September 2nd at home.  The game kicks off at 3:30pm against Saddleback College.
