LANCASTER - It's been an inauspicious start to the season for the Marauder baseball team.
AVC was handily defeated by El Camino College Saturday afternoon, 8-1. It was the Marauders sixth loss in seven games to open the 2016 campaign.
AVC's lone run came in the second inning following a double by Michael Arroyo which drove in Timothy Dodd. Still the Marauders trailed 4-1 at that point after giving up four runs in the top of the second inning to the visiting Warriors.
El Camino's Jonathan Pasillas reached base on all five of his plate appearances, including four hits (three doubles) and a walk. He also knocked in four runs for the Warriors, who had a total of 14 hits.
AVC shortstop Tyler Pittmon continued his hot hitting at the plate as he finished 2-for-4. Over the past three games Pittmon is 6-for-13.
