LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team out hit Citrus College, but in the end it was the visiting Owls that snuck away with a close 3-2 victory, Tuesday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
The Marauders collected 10 hits to Citrus' six and could only muster two runs in the bottom of the second inning including a pair of RBI singles by Ian Nelson and Jorge Villalobos which scored Ethan Avant and Joseph Cochran.
"We did hit the ball hard today, but it seemed to go right to them," said Avant, who had a double on the day. "I think we could have played better and being more patient at the plate.
AVC starter Andrew Wilson was solid on the mound as he only allowed four hits and all three runs he allowed were unearned. All the Owls' runs came in the top of the sixth inning with the Marauders leading 2-0.
Nelson was 3-for-4 and Kyle Lathrop collected two hits for the Marauders.
