Men's Tennis at Ventura College has dominated the Western State Conference for a long time. That dominance took a hit Tuesday, however, as VC lost its first conference match since 2006, a 6-3 defeat at Glendale College. Vitor Mendes and Matheus Montero won in No. 1 doubles and Mendes and Victor Dos Santos were victorious in Nos. 1 and 3 singles respectively, but it was not enough to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the hands of the Vaqueros.
The Pirates (0-2, 0-1) will open their home schedule on Thursday Feb. 27 against Los Angeles Pierce College at 2:00 pm.
