LANCASTER - Taylor Roberts hit her fifth home run of the season and pitched a complete game to lead the Marauder softball team to an easy 13-4 victory over East LA, Friday at Marauder Stadium.
It was AVC's second mercy rule game in a row. The Marauders defeated West LA on Thursday, 15-0 and it was their sixth run rule victory of the season.
"Taylor pitched well and we hit pretty well," AVC head coach Cindy Vargas said. "We had a disappointing day on defense by committing four errors. We need to clean that up and be more consistent on defense."
Roberts pitched a complete game allowing only four runs and five hits.
Ashley Fiorelli hit a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning as the Marauders built a 7-2 lead. Fiorelli was 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs scored. Roberts also added four RBI.
