VALLEY GLEN - Austin Grabbitt had one of his best outings of the season as he shut down LA Valley for seven innings and the Marauder baseball held on for a 6-5 victory over the Monarchs and with it began a new winning streak at one.
The Marauders opened the season by winning their first seven games of the season before a brief hiccup after losing their first game of the season on Friday.
Grabbitt (3-0) was dazzling on the mound as he pitched seven innings of four-hit ball, while striking out eight. When he departed, AVC had a a 3-0 run. It extended its lead to 5-0 in the top of the eighth inning.
Eddie Marcotte and Trevor Morrison each had two hits for AVC and Daniel Gomez led the Marauders with two RBI.
