SBCC ended the regular season in style on Friday night by stunning first-place Moorpark 2-1 in a come-from-behind women's soccer triumph at La Playa Stadium.

It was the first WSC North loss for Moorpark (13-4-4, 8-1-1), which shared the conference crown with Ventura. The Vaqueros are 12-6-1 and finished third in the WSC with a 6-3-1 mark.

Josefine Von Der Burg had a two-goal game for the second time in four days. She leads the Vaqueros with 16 goals and 35 points.

The 5-9 forward from Sweden was one of seven Vaqueros honored before the game on Sophomore Night.

Amanda King scored from 12 yards out in the eighth minute and Moorpark took a 1-0 halftime lead.

Fee Van Deelan stole a pass and fed Von Der Burg in the 70th minute and she blasted the game-tying goal into the lower left corner from 22 yards. Just 5:35 later, Von Der Burg took a pass from Kathryn Sullivan and fired in a left-footed goal from the top of the box for her third game-winner of the year.

"We keep on playing hard, even when we're behind," said Von Der Burg. "We were fed up with losing to Ventura and Moorpark. We had all the possession in the second half and I started to shoot and it went in.

"I tried not to think too much and just shoot the ball when I got it. I really wanted to score and see the ball in the net. I feel like I'm coming into my top level right now."

Santa Barbara had the ball in its half of the field for most of the second half, outshooting the Raiders 8-1 in the last 45 minutes. SBCC finished with twice as many shots (12-6) and three times as many shots on goal (6-2).

"We keep repeating this pattern of falling behind at halftime, then we talk to the girls and then they come out and have a barnstorming finish," said coach John Sisterson. "We got the result that I felt we deserved last week vs. Ventura and we did it against a WSC champion.

"We put on a very good show in the second half."

The Vaqueros are in good position to make the Southern Cal Regional playoffs for the seventh straight year. They're ranked 13th in the So Cal Power Points and the top 18 qualify. The playoff pairings will be announced on Tuesday.
