LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team swept a double header against Imperial Valley College, Thursday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
The Marauders (3-1) won the first game 6-3, followed by an impressive 13-3 victory in the second.
With three victories, in four home games this season, AVC matched its entire home win total of all of last season.
The Marauders exploded in the first inning of the first game roughing up starting pitcher Michael Salcedo, who allowed all six runs and lasted only 2/3 of an inning. In that first-inning outburst, AVC collected six hits including a double by Ethan Avant and five singles. However, that would be the only offensive output by the Marauders the entire game.
Avant, Kyle Lathrop and Joseph Cochran accounted for seven of AVC's 10 hits.
Griffin Hagen pitched five innings of one-hit ball in the second game as the Marauders cruised to an easy victory by pounding out 13 hits. Hagen also struck out two to get his first ever collegiate victory.
Cochran, Anthony Reyes and Anthony Parisi each collected three RBI for AVC. Five players had at least two hits apiece for the Marauders.
