Warriors Defeat West LA 76-57 for First Win of the Season

Culver City, Calif. - Sophomore Meghan Peneueta led the Warrior's victory over West Los Angeles Wednesday night. The Warriors strong defense stopped any run that allowed the Wildcats to get within striking range, ending the night 76-57.

After dropping their first game in a tight battle, the Warriors came jumped out to an early lead, outscoring West LA 22-12. Sophomore forward Jill Thebodeau led the offense in the first quarter, recording 8 points.

The third quarter proved more challenging for the Warriors as they were outscored 19-16 in the quarter. Despite their efforts, the Wildcats were still unable to catch up to the Warriors, who led by 10 points at the end of the quarter.

The Warriors cruised in the 4th quarter, outscoring the Wildcats 20-11. Peneueta led the Warriors' with 24 points on the night. While freshman guard Hunter Noa recorded five points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors (1-1) look to keep their momentum as they take on Cypress College (3-1) at home Tuesday, Nov. 22nd at 6 p.m.
