Sophomore forward Samera Henry led the Knights with her third double-double of the season. She put in 18 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, and blocked two shots. Evangeline Morga scored a game-high 20 points, 12 of which came off her four 3-pointers.
Both teams struggled to hold on to the ball in the first quarter as they totaled 16 turnovers, but the Knights came out of it with an 11-9 lead and then started the second quarter with a 15-4 run to take a 26-13 lead.
The Knights forced another 10 Citrus turnovers with their press in the second quarter and took advantage by building a 38-20 halftime lead.
The Owls, who were led by Marisa Brown's 16 points and 17 rebounds, looked like a different team coming out of the locker room and cut a 21-point Knight lead down to 48-40 with 1:24 remaining in the third quarter.
Three consecutive layups by Morga, Mikaelah Wieland, and Morga again pushed the Knights' lead back to 14. Citrus made another run midway through the fourth quarter, but the Owls did not get any closer than nine points the rest of the way as Knights went on to claim their first win of the 2016-17 season.
Wieland provided 14 points and six steals off the bench for the Knights.
The Knights will travel to Riverside for another Saturday afternoon game on November 26 at 1:00 p.m. before their next home game on December 9. City will host Victory Valley at 6:00 p.m. in the opening round of the SD Colbert Classic.
