GLENDALE - The Marauder softball team had no trouble with Glendale 13-4 on the road at Glendale College but lost in its second meeting with Mt. SAC, 7-6 in nine innings, on Saturday.
Against the Vaqueros, AVC's Sierra Fiala was 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs scored, including a triple and a double. She missed hitting for the cycle by only a home run.
The Marauders trailed 3-0 entering the top of the fourth inning. They scored three runs in the top of the fourth, five in the top of the fifth and five more in the top of the seventh inning.
"I felt really good at the plate," Fiala said. "I think we played really well. The energy was really high and we were all in it that game."
The Mounties avenged a 7-1 loss to AVC earlier this season to defeat the Marauders in nine innings. Isabelle Gomez was 2-for-5 with one RBI and Taylor Roberts added two more RBI giving her 66 on the season ranking her No. 2 in the state. Sara Weiser also added a double and two runs scored for the Marauders.
