Hancock shoots past Vaqueros in home finale

Hancock built a 48-19 halftime lead on Tuesday night, then shot 60% in the second half of a 99-45 win over SBCC in the Vaquero men's basketball home finale.

The Bulldogs (22-5, 7-2) outshot the Vaqueros 52.6% to 23.3% and outrebounded them 65-24. Hancock moved into a three-way tie for first in the WSC North with Cuesta and Ventura, thanks to Cuesta's 85-65 win over Ventura.

Trenton Mitchell led Hancock with 18 points and Tasson Thomas had 17 points and 19 rebounds.

Kile Kleiner hit 3-7 from long distance and topped the Vaqueros (3-23, 0-9) with 13 points. Joseph Holden added 12 points.

The Vaqueros will wrap up the season on Friday with a 3 p.m. game at Oxnard.
