VALLEY GLEN - The Marauder baseball team won its fourth game in a row and improved its record to 5-1 with an easy victory over LA Valley College, 11-3, Friday afternoon.
It was the Marauders first time away from home this season and they showed no signs of home sickness. In fact, it was the Monarchs that left the field dejected.
Starting pitcher Andrew Garcia pitched six innings of solid baseball as he finished by scattering only five hits and allowing only one run.
Joseph Cochran, Frankie Linstrom, Michael Behen, Zach Diaz and Daniel Gomez each had two RBI for the Marauders. Kyle Lathrop and Behen each collected three hits.
AVC exploded for three runs in the third inning and five in the fourth to capture an 8-0 lead. Only a day earlier the Marauders won an 11-10 shootout against LA Valley, which is searching for its first win of the season.
The Marauders return back home on Saturday to finish up the three game set against the Monarchs at noon.
