LANCASTER - The Marauder baseball team gave up 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning to Victor Valley College, but was able to rally and hold on to a 15-14 victory, Thursday afternoon at a windy Marauder Stadium.
AVC led 5-0 heading into the fifth inning when the Rams scored 10 of their own to take a 10-5 lead. The Marauder responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs to trim the lead to 10-8.
AVC trailed 14-12 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning and rallied by scoring three runs following a walk-off triple by John Serrato, who pinch hit for John Reyes.
Both teams combined for 29 runs, 33 hits and 10 errors.
Kyle Lathrop finished the game 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Daulton Stanton was 3-for-5 with four RBI and one run scored. Jorge Villalobos and Michael Behen added three and two hits respectively.
