MONTEREY PARK - The Marauder softball team played a solid all-around game as it defeated East LA College, 7-2, Wednesday afternoon at East LA College.
Morgan Arndt was stout on the mound for the Marauders as she pitched a complete game allowing only two runs while scattering eight hits. She also struck out seven batters.
"I felt like I kept the ball down and had good movement on my ball," Arndt said. "We had an overall good game. Our pitching and defense was the key to winning this game. We have the offense, but had been helping us win more games."
With Arndt doing her thing on the mound, the offense had her back by scoring seven runs including three hits from Paige Johnson and an RBI. Johnson leads the state with 33 RBI this season.
Arndt also helped herself out at the plate finishing 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Sally Miramontes added a two-RBI double for AVC. Dolly Stevens had one RBI and scored two runs.
