Men’s Volleyball Loses 3-1 to DIII team, Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Men's Volleyball faced DIII California Lutheran University Friday night, losing 3-1 to the Kingsmen. The Warriors are now 0-3 to start their season.

The Kingsmen took the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-17. In the first set, the Warriors started with a slower momentum, allowing the Kingsmen 6-0 lead. The Warriors counterattacked later in the set bringing the score within 1, 20-19, but they could not complete the set. In the second set, the Warriors went back and forth with the Kingsmen, until they pulled away and won 25-17.

The Warriors did not give up and won the third set, 25-20. They showed relentless pressure and refused to go out with a sweep. In the third, the Warriors had 15 kills and only 5 errors with a .357 hitting percentage. Unfortunately their efforts were not enough and the Kingsmen won the final set, 25-22.

Cesar Medina led the Warriors with 27 kills, contributing to most of the Warriors' points. Pedro Campos led the team defensively with 7 kills.

The Warriors travel to Fullerton Wednesday, February 15th at 6:00 pm.
