OCEANSIDE - The Marauder men's basketball team didn't shoot the ball well and it showed after Cerritos defeated AVC 58-55 in the semifinals of the 2nd Annual Clete Adelman Classic hosted by MiraCosta College.
The Marauders shot a dismal 34 percent from the field, which was tied for their worst shooting performance of the season. AVC was able to shoot 15 more filed goals than the Falcons but were only 20-of-58 while Cerritos was 23-for-43. Only a night earlier the Marauders shot better than 52 percent in an easy victory against MiraCosta.
Osi Nwachukwu led AVC with 11 points including three 3 pointers.
The Marauders will play San Diego Miramar, the 16th ranked team in the state, on Thursday at 2pm for third place of the tournament.
