AVC Women's Volleyball outlasted the LA Pierce Brahmas in a 5-set battle at home on Wednesday. AVC dropped the first set 25-19 but bounced back with a 25-14 win in set 2. Pierce regained momentum and took a long set 3 29-27. The Marauders offense picked up the pace as they dominated set 4, 25-15, and the tie-break 15-3.
Julia Mueller led AVC with a team-high 15 kills and 20 digs. Mueller leads the team in kills on the season with 76. Kylee Eubanks-Hemme had 9 kills, 12 digs, and a team-high 5 aces. Nicole Fletes had 29 assists, 14 digs, and 3 kills. Fletes is the team's assist leader, with 149 on the season. Zaida Gutierrez contributed 17 digs and 2 aces, while Saniyah Palmer had 3 kills and 8 digs.
The win brought the Marauders to .500 at 3-3 as they are set to begin conference play on the road at Cuesta on Friday. They will return home on October 4 for a conference match-up with Glendale.
