TAFT - The Marauder baseball team lost for only the second time this season as it fell to Taft, 5-1, Thursday afternoon.
Jonathan Cornish was 4-for-5 for AVC, which left 12 runners on base. The lone RBI came from Anthony Parisi in the top of the third inning on a sacrifice bunt that scored Kyle Lathrop which gave the Marauders a 1-0 lead.
Starting pitcher Blake Leidholdt was solid on the mound as he allowed only one earned run while striking out seven batters. AVC pitchers combined to strike out 11 batters.
