The Warriors Come Close Against the Glendale Vaqueros

GLENDALE, Calif – The El Camino Warriors fell to the Glendale Vaqueros Wednesday in a close match.  The Warriors kept the momentum throughout the game, but were not able to finish.

The first quarter started slow for the Warriors, down 6-7, until Amiete Nyingifa made outside jump shot allowing the Warriors take the lead, 8-7 in the 7th minute. The Warriors kept the score in their favor ending the first quarter 13-9.

The Warriors maintained steady defense in the second quarter, leading the game 17-9 three minutes in. However, the Vaqueros' Brooke Radcliff scored 4 points in the last few minutes of the quarter, creating a close match, but the Warriors finished the quarter up 5.

In the third quarter, the Warriors scored 13 points, maintaining the lead, 38-33.  The Warriors started strong in the fourth quarter started strong, but after back-to-back three pointers from Luna Panosian in the 38th minute, the Vaqueros took the lead, 42-44.  The Warriors strong first three quarters were not enough to defeat the Vaqueros, falling short 44-49. Freshman Kayla Bibb finished the game 12-11-3.

The Warriors face East Los Angeles College tomorrow at home at 6:00pm.
