LA HARBOR - Joseph Moorer led the Marauders with 13 points in a true team scoring game as AVC was able to return to the Championship game of the Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament for the first time since 2011, this time dropping LA Harbor 80-59.
The Marauders lost last year in the second round to the Seahawks 66-61 and it was LA Harbor who met San Bernardino Valley in the championship game.
This time it's two undefeated teams for the first time as far back as anyone can remember, with the Wolverines 11-0 and AVC 8-0.
Nevell Lenard grabbed nine rebounds while all but one Marauder scored.
PIERCE - Nevell Lenard putback a Joseph Moorer miss with two seconds left to give the Marauders a 75-74 over Pierce in the opening round of the 64th Gregg Anderson Memorial Tournament.
The Marauders, facing the only team that had beaten them on the court this season - a 95-93 loss in overtime in the San Bernardino Tournament, only to get the win when Pierce used an ineligible player - took a big lead, then dropped to trailing by 13 with 12 minutes left.
Part of the Brahmas' success, especially in the first was thanks to Niko Macke who hit six straight threes.
But AVC responded with a 16-2 burst of their own and drew within two with seven minutes left.
From there it was a matter of real tough offensive rebound work on both sides as the ball never seemed to want to go in.
Joseph Moorer led everyone with 21 points, while Leonard grabbed eight rebounds.
