SANTA BARBARA - Nina Nguimzon was the lone Marauder women's tennis play to have success against Santa Barbara as the Vaqueros had no trouble cruising to an 8-1 victory Tuesday afternoon at Santa Barbara City College.
Nguimzon defeated the Vaqueros' Savannah Bickle easily taking the first set, 6-2 and coming back to win a tight second, 7-6 (9-7).
No. 1 singles' player Celsea McGrew had trouble with Madison Seeds, losing 6-3, 6-1. Karlie Britton also lost the No. 2 singles' match to Santa Barbara's Tyler Bunderson, 6-4, 6-3. Earlier this season it was Bunderson that gave Britton her first defeat of the season on Feb. 23, 6-2, 7-6 (10-8), when the Marauders hosted the Vaqueros.
