BARSTOW - The Marauder baseball team seemed in control.
For eight innings it was dominant.
Unfortunately, AVC still had one more inning to play.
Taking a five-run lead into the ninth inning, Barstow rallied with six and shocked the Marauders with a 12-11 victory Saturday afternoon.
The Marauder exploded with eight runs in the top of the second inning and added two more in the top of the third to take a commanding 10-0 lead. AVC led 11-6 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning when the flood gates opened.
The Vikings scored six runs on four hits including a walk-off double to win the game. Barstow also benefitted from three walks and an error by AVC.
AVC's Daniel Gomez was 5-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Gabe Curtier was 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored and Michael Behen finished with three RBI for the Marauders. Ethan Avant and Joseph Cochran each had multiple hits for AVC.
