BC SOFTBALL LOSES IN EXTRA FRAMES; MISSES CHANCE TO MOVE CLOSER TO 1st

BC let one slip through their fingers against Allan Hancock on the road Tuesday.
BC let one slip through their fingers against Allan Hancock on the road Tuesday.

The Bakersfield College Softball Team (13-13, 9-4) missed more than several chances to put Allan Hancock (17-8, 10-2) in a 4-3 extra innings loss Tuesday; they missed a chance to climb the standings and further muddle the championship race in the Western State North conference.

"When we get runners on, we need timely hitting. We didn't have that, and you can't squander those precious opportunities to put runs on the board against the first place team in your conference," Hill said.

The Renegades registered nine hits against Bulldogs starter Bailey Killough (12-2), while taking advantage of errors and miscues to plate three runners, just one of which was earned.

But they stranded 10 runners, something that Hill felt was unecessary.

"I feel like our ladies are talented enough to win these games, but that doesn't matter. They need to believe they are good enough to win these games," Hill said.
