Fresh off winning the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association State Championship, the Santa Monica College Men’s Volleyball team capped off their 2015 campaign by sweeping the top awards in the Western State Conference. Sophomore outside hitter Luis Palos was named the WSC’s Most Valuable Player, while Head Coach John Mayer took home Coach of the Year honors.
The Santa Monica Corsairs outlasted the El Camino Warriors, 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19), in the final match of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Men's Volleyball Championship, to win their first state title since 1981 and third overall.
For just the second time in program history the Santa Monica College Men’s Volleyball program has won the Western State Conference Championship. The Corsairs won their first ever WSC conference title in 2008.
