Cuesta’s Moore and Santa Monica’s Eskridge Earn Top Honors

Cuesta College's goalie Brady Moore and Santa Monica College Men's Water Polo Head Coach Brian Eksridge both earned the top Western State Conference honors this past weekend. Moore was named the WSC's Player of the Year, while Eskridge was tabbed as the Coach of the Year.

Eskridge led the Corsairs to a 15-16 record overall. After Santa Monica went 0 for 4 in regular season WSC play, Eskridge spearheaded a remarkable turnaround in the WSC Championship Tournament as the Corsairs nabbed third place. Santa Monica upset Citrus College 10-6, lost a hard fought 7-11 game against #1 seed Cuesta College in the semi-finals, before closing out the weekend with an 9-4 upset of #3 LA Valley College in the third place game.

Moore meanwhile was arguably the top goalie in the State. Moore had 409 saves on the season to go along with a team leading 73 steals. His 409 saves led the State by 51, and his steals mark was the 8th highest in the State.
