Forty-eight hours after doing the improbable, Briana Garrett did the unthinkable. She threw her second perfect game as the Marauders beat Barstow 5-0 on the road. When you consider how rare it is to throw a perfect game, throwing two back-to-back is extraordinary. It's also record-breaking as it has never happened before in Marauder history.

Garrett, second in the state in strikeouts with 128, won the battle against Kylee Fahy (leading with 141 strikeouts), by throwing her first perfect game in Saturday's second match-up of a doubleheader against Bakersfield. She then pitched another perfect game on Monday with 17 strikeouts against Barstow.

In the final inning, Garrett was down 3-1 in the count with one out. The pressure grew intense with the home crown trying to rattle the freshmen from Quartz Hill High school. "She dug deep and pulled out one of most incredible accomplishments I've ever seen," said assistant coach Mike Vargas. Briana came back in the count to strike her out for out number two. She then struck out the third batter to retire the side and end the game.

"She's a special talent... after what she has had to overcome it says a lot about the kind of person B is," said Vargas. Garrett now has 28 strikeouts in her last 14 innings pitched as the Marauders lead CCCAA's Western State Conference.

With offensive firepower from Aricka Price (2-for-3 with two RBIs), Rosie Marquez, and Jessica Munoz who also went 2-for-3, the Marauders won their fifth straight. Camrynn Stanbro also had an RBI and finished 1-for-3. They are now 15-7 overall, 5-0 in conference play, and have a 9-0 record at home.
