Sandra Grimaldo and John Sisterson of Santa Barbara City College were named the Western State Conference Women's Soccer North Division Player and Coach of the Year recently. It's the third time in four years that a Vaquero player has claimed the top honor, while it's the second such Women's Soccer Coach of the Year award for Sisterson.

Grimaldo, a sophomore forward, was one of the top play makers in all of the Western State Conference in 2014. Grimaldo scored nine goals and handed out seven assists on the year for a total of 25 points. In WSC North play alone Grimaldo scored seven times and recorded five of her seven total assists on the year.

Sisterson meanwhile guided the Vaqueros to just their second ever Western State Conference North Division crown. Santa Barbara finished its season with a 14-3-5 overall record and 9-0-3 mark in conference play. The Vaqueros accumulated 30 points in WSC North action, edging second place Los Angeles Pierce College by three points.
