Angel Ballesteros scored two goals and Rayshon Robert made six saves as the state #19-ranked Pasadena City College men's soccer team recorded its second straight shutout, 3-0, at LA Pierce College on Tuesday.

The Lancers (5-2) jumped ahead 1-0 only eight minutes into the non-conference game as Ariel Hernandez headed in a cross from Diego Lazo.

Only three minutes later, Ballesteros completed a set piece as Jose Perez sent a cross to Jordy Aviles who headed it back to Ballesteros, who promptly rifled in a shot from 10 yards out.

In the 52 minute, Ballesteros, a 6-foot sophomore, accepted a through ball from Perez to deposit his fourth goal of the season.

Robert played well in goal, including a few acrobatic type saves.

Coach Francisco Cantero was able to get playing time for 26 different players.

The last time PCC had five wins by the 7-game point of any season was 2008.

PCC next hosts College of the Canyons on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in a 3 p.m. game at Robinson Stadium.
