BC Softball Wraps Up Season After Playoff Loss

LONG BEACH CITY, CA - Bakersfield College softball closed out the 2025 season with a tough 0-2 playoff series loss to #4 seed Long Beach City College. Despite the early postseason exit, the Renegades posted a strong overall record of 21-21 and finished second in the Western State Conference. Highlighting their season, ten Renegade athletes received All-Conference honors: four were named to the First Team, four were named to the Second Team, and two earned Honorable Mentions. Star pitcher Serenity Angulo capped off her standout year with All-State recognition.

In Game 1 of the playoff series, BC fell 2-0 despite a gritty complete game from Alexia Martinez, who allowed just two runs on six hits over six innings. Offensively, the Renegades were held to three hits, with Isabella Harrison accounting for two. Game 2 saw Long Beach break the game open late, handing BC a 5-0 loss. Angulo pitched 6.1 innings and gave up 14 hits, but only three earned runs. Bakersfield's lone hit came from Clarisa Rivera.

Though the season ended short of a championship run, BC's postseason presence solidified 2025 as a year to remember.
