Compton, Calif. - Freshman Marisol Mercado and sophomore Barbara Najera both counted a goal each, but the Compton women's soccer team (1-1) fell 5-2 to LA Valley on Tuesday evening.
Freshman keeper Rosalyn Ascencio counted 11 saves in the game, and freshmen Julissa Gamboa and Jenifer Lopez tallied an assist each.
The women's soccer team head on an overnight trip to San Diego, facing Cuyamaca first on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 3 p.m.
