On a day when four GCC softball players would be wearing their cardinal and gold uniforms for the last time, sophomore Emma Mendoza had a day to remember with two hits and three RBI to pace her teammates to 6-2 win over L.A. Valley College April 22. Mendoza along Nazzelli Zohrabian, Tati Pisa and Brenna Payne were honored with flowers and hugs from teammates and family after the game.

 

But before the post-game celebration, it was Emma Mendoza and her teammates who were making plenty of noise as her two-run homer in the fourth inning gave the Lady Vaqs a 2-0 win and she also knocked in a third tun with a run scoring single. Cat Anzalone and Isabella Mendoza also had two hits each and starting pitcher Annaliese Ruiz earned the complete game win.

 

GCC finished the season 13-24 overall and 2-10 in the conference.
