Los Angeles Mission College snapped a three-year Western State Conference Supremacy Award winning streak by neighbor College of the Canyons on Tuesday morning. On the backs of strong performance from all four sports it offers, the Eagles posted an average of 7.70 to claim its first ever WSC Supremacy title.
Sacramento, CA – Late last week the California Community College Athletic Association announced their 2015-2016 Scholar Team Award winners. Of the 19 teams to be recognized for their academic achievements, eight hailed from the Western State Conference.
The College of the Canyons Athletics Department claimed its third straight Western State Conference Supremacy title on Monday afternoon. The Cougars, who won six WSC titles throughout the 2015-2016 academic year, averaged 7.19 points per sport, which is the single season highest average for an athletic department since the switch to an average point system beginning with the 2012-2013 seasons.
Beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year, both Barstow College and Victor Valley College have officially become members of the Western State Conference. The Vikings and the Rams join the WSC after the dissolution of the Foothill Conference at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 academic year.
