LANCASTER - The Marauder women's soccer team played well but dropped its fourth match in a row suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of first-place Citrus College, Tuesday afternoon at Marauder Stadium.
"We will continue to learn from our performances and look to improve for the next game," AVC head coach Charles Gordon said.
The Owls (9-5, 3-0) outshot the Marauders (5-6-5, 0-3) 9-4 and the lone goal came at the 48-minute mark after Devyn Bagwell scored for Citrus.
With the victory, the Owls remained atop the conference, tied with College of the Canyons. AVC dropped to last place in the Western State-East Division Conference. The Marauders travel to winless Bakersfield College on Tuesday.
