Canyons Claims Sixth StraightNovember 12, 2016The College of the Canyons Women’s Soccer team continued it’s dominance of it’s fellow Western State Conference opponents in 2016 after winning it’s sixth straight divisional title. The Cougars won the first ever Western State Conference East Division championship, and was the first WSC team to clinch in any division, clinching with a 0-0 tie at Victor Valley College on November 4th.

Pierce Claims Third Title in Four YearsNovember 12, 2016The Los Angeles Pierce College Women’s Soccer team claimed its third conference championship in the last four years in 2016. The Brahmas won their final three games to hold off Santa Monica College.

Ventura and Moorpark Split WSC North TitleNovember 12, 2016Ventura College and Moorpark College split the 2016 Western State Conference North title. It’s the second straight split for Moorpark, and their sixth conference title overall. For Ventura meanwhile it’s their 15th overall title and their first since 2012.

Raygoza Named Player of the Year; Perez and Ruiz Split Coach of the Year HonorsJanuary 26, 2016Los Angeles Pierce College sophomore Desiree Raygoza was named the Western State Conference North Division Player of the Year. In the Coach of the Year Race, Pierce Head Coach Adolfo Perez and Moorpark College’s Miguel Ruiz split the honors.

Kneisel and Lundin Go Back to BackJanuary 26, 2016For the second consecutive year, College of the Canyons’ Marissa Kneisel and Head Coach Justin Lundin were given the top awards in the Western State Conference South Division. Kneisel is just the fourth athlete in WSC history to win the Player of the Year award in back to back seasons, while it’s the first time ever that both player and coach have repeated at the same time.

Canyons Sweeps WSC South Women’s SoccerDecember 02, 2014College of the Canyons Coach Justin Lundin was named the Western State Conference South Division Coach of the Year recently. In addition to Lundin’s award, Cougar sophomore Marissa Kneisel was named the WSC South Player of the Year.

Grimaldo and Sisterson of Santa Barbara are Named Player and Coach of the YearNovember 26, 2014Sandra Grimaldo and John Sisterson of Santa Barbara City College were named the Western State Conference Women’s Soccer North Division Player and Coach of the Year recently. It’s the third time in four years that a Vaquero player has claimed the top honor, while it’s the second such Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year award for Sisterson.

Canyons Women Take Fourth Straight WSC South Title; SBCC Claims Second WSC North Title in HistoryNovember 20, 2014The College of the Canyons Women's Soccer program locked up its fourth straight Western State Conference South Division Championship last week. In the Western State Conference North Division it was Santa Barbara City College who claimed their second conference title in program history.

Pierce and Canyons Seasons Finish In Second RoundDecember 02, 2013Los Angeles Pierce College and College of the Canyons, the Western State Conference’s final two remaining teams in the 2013 CCCAA Southern California Regionals both finished their season in the second round this past week. Pierce fell to Orange Coast College 1-1 in penalty kicks, while Canyons’ terrific campaign came to a close at the hands of San Diego Miramar 1-0.

LA Pierce Grabs WSC North Crown In Final Game of YearNovember 20, 2013In their first season in the Western State Conference North Division, the Los Angeles Pierce College Women’s Soccer program grabbed the conference crown thanks to a 0-0 tie with Moorpark College in their final regular season contest. The tie gave the Brahmas one point and helped them stave off Ventura College, who finished a point back of Pierce.

Five Schools to Represent WSC in CCCAA Post-SeasonNovember 20, 2013A total of five teams from the Western State Conference will be representing the WSC in the upcoming California Community College Athletic Association Playoffs. Two teams from the WSC South and three teams from the WSC North all earned nods today.

College of the Canyons Clinches WSC South TitleNovember 20, 2013The College of the Canyons Women’s Soccer team clinched their third straight Western State Conference South crown on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 win over Citrus College. The win relegated the Owls to second place no matter the outcome of the final regular season contest for each, and gave the Cougars their seventh title overall.
