Canyons Claims 9th Straight WSC Men’s Golf Crown

The College of the Canyons Men's Golf team wrapped up their ninth straight Western State Conference Men's Golf Championship yesterday afternoon. The Cougars did so by winning 10 of the 12 WSC rounds on the year, including the final two at the WSC Finals at Crystalaire Country Club in Llanos, CA.

Canyons ran away with the thing on both rounds of the Final. The team posted rounds of 362 and 375 on the day, besting second place Allan Hancock College by nearly 30 strokes in the first round and 10 in the second. Individual conference champion Jonas Comerford paced the Cougar effort with rounds of 72 and 74. He finished the season with an individual average of 72.60 per round which is the 8th lowest round average in WSC history.
