Santa Monica Sweeps All-WSC Men’s Volleyball AwardsMay 13, 2015Fresh off winning the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association State Championship, the Santa Monica College Men’s Volleyball team capped off their 2015 campaign by sweeping the top awards in the Western State Conference. Sophomore outside hitter Luis Palos was named the WSC’s Most Valuable Player, while Head Coach John Mayer took home Coach of the Year honors.

Santa Monica Men's Volleyball Wins 2015 CCCAA State ChampionshipApril 27, 2015The Santa Monica Corsairs outlasted the El Camino Warriors, 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19), in the final match of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Men's Volleyball Championship, to win their first state title since 1981 and third overall.

Santa Monica Wins Men’s Volleyball Conference ChampionshipApril 13, 2015For just the second time in program history the Santa Monica College Men’s Volleyball program has won the Western State Conference Championship. The Corsairs won their first ever WSC conference title in 2008.

First place Los Angeles Pierce College, second place Long Beach City College, and third place El Camino College have all earned the right to play in the post-season.

Long Beach Advances to Semi-Finals; El Camino Falls in Five SetsNovember 08, 2013The Long Beach City College Men’s Volleyball team advanced to the CCCAA State Semi-Finals on Tuesday evening with a straight set sweep of Orange Coast College. The WSC’s other representative in the quarterfinals, El Camino College, was knocked out in the opening round, falling in a hard fought five sets to Golden West College.

WSC Men’s Volleyball Post-Season Awards AnnouncedNovember 08, 2013The 2013 Western State Conference Men’s Volleyball Post-Season Awards were announced recently. Los Angeles Pierce College Head Coach Lance Walker was named the Coach of the Year, while Pierce’s libero Lucas Yanez and Long Beach City College opposite hitter Jo’Lon Clark were named the Co-Most Valuable Players.

Long Beach and LA Pierce Bow Out In Semi-FinalsNovember 08, 2013Both of the WSC’s remaining representatives in the 2013 CCCAA Men’s Volleyball State Championships bowed out on Thursday evening. Long Beach City College fell in the semi-finals to Grossmont College in four sets, while Los Angeles Pierce College, fell in four sets to Golden West College.
