Canyons Sweeps WSC South Women’s Soccer

College of the Canyons swept the WSC South Post-Season Awards with Head Coach Justin Lundin (left) being named Coach of the Year and Marissa Kneisel (right) being named Player of the Year.

College of the Canyons Coach Justin Lundin was named the Western State Conference South Division Coach of the Year recently. In addition to Lundin's award, Cougar sophomore Marissa Kneisel was named the WSC South Player of the Year.

Lundin earned the honors after leading the Cougars to their eighth overall conference title and fourth straight under his guidance. College of the Canyons went 16-3-3 on the year in 2014, including a 12-1-1 mark in WSC South play. It was the third overall Coach of the Year nod for Lundin.

Kneisel meanwhile became the third Canyons player to be named Player of the Year in the last four seasons. Kneisel led the entire WSC in points (55), and was second in goals (20) and assists (15).
