Glendale Sweeps Through WSC Women’s Tennis Season

The Glendale College Women's Tennis program swept through the 2018 Western State Conference Season. The Vaqueros took home the team title, their fourth straight, the singles championship, Miah Webb, and the doubles title, Srna Lepchevska and Hailey McNall.

The Glendale Women had arguably their most dominant team campaign in program history in 2018. The Vaqueros finished WSC play a perfect 14-0, dropping a total of two matches in conference play for a total record of 124-2. The three-headed monster of Webb, Lepchevska, and McNall was a huge reason for that success.

Webb entered the WSC Singles Championships as the #1 overall seed and did not dissapoint. Webb dominated her way into the title match, defeating the #3 overall seed out of Santa Monica College Abby Mullins 6-1, 6-1 in the semi-finals. In the finals she faced her toughest opponent when she took on her teammate Lepchevska. It turned out to be a match to remember with Webb ending the weekend victorious 6-7 (7-3), 6-3 and 7-6.

In doubles play Lepchevska would get her revenge along with her partner McNall. The duo was the #1 overall seed in that competition and proved to be worth the hype heading into the championship bout against none other than Webb and her partner Sabrina Subero. In another epic match, Lepchevska and McNall would just get the best of their teammates, with a 6-7 (7-5), 6-3, and 10-8 victory.
