Valley Finishes 4th in SoCals

Los Angeles Valley College, one of three teams representing the Western State Conference at this past weekend's CCCAA Southern California Regionals, finished in fourth place. It was the highest finish by a WSC team this year.

The Monarchs opened up the weekend by facing #4 Grossmont College in the second round after a first round bye. Valley defeated the Griffins 11-5 and was pushed into the semi-finals where they faced #1 overall seed Golden West College. Valley suffered a 2-15 setback and was relegated to the third place game where they took on #3 Fullerton. The Monarchs gave it a go, but ultimately fell short in that contest, losing to the Hornets in overtime 5-6.

Other WSC participants included Los Angeles Pierce College, who downed #8 Palomar College 20-9 in the first round, before falling to Golden West 7-14 in round two. Ventura College also participated falling in the first round to #7 Orange Coast College 8-15.
