Santa Barbara Sweep Women’s Water Polo Top Honors

In just its first year of existence as a program, the Santa Barbara City College Women's Water Polo team wrapped up a fantastic inaugural campaign by sweeping the top honors in the Western State Conference. Freshman Rocio Fesembeck was named the WSC Most Valuable Player, while Head Coach Brian "Chuckie" Roth was named the Coach of the Year.

Fesembeck was the leading scorer on the year for the Vaqueros recording 111 goals. Fesembeck also added 25 assists and 52 steals, as her and the rest of the Santa Barbara team made history on the season.

The Vaqueros finished second in regular season conference play, but won the WSC Championship Tournament end went into the CCCAA Southern California Regionals as the #10 seed, where Coach Roth helped take Santa Barbara to an upset win over #7 Long Beach City College 9-5. Santa Barbara's season ended in the quarterfinals to #2 Riverside City College, who went on to finish second in the SoCal Tournament.
