San Dimas, CA - The Glendale College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams swept the 2018 Western State Conference team titles on Friday afternoon at Bonelli Park. It's the third straight year that the powerhouse has pulled off the team feat, and the 14th time in the program's storied history. 

The day opened up with the Women's 5K. Moorpark College sophomore Samantha Barajas took home the individual crown with a blazing time of 18:01.2. Ventura College freshman Olivia Burton was second across the finish line (18:13.5), with Glendale College sophomore Jennifer Perez-Cazarez rounding out the Top 3 with a finish of 18:37.2. 

The Vaquero women flexed their depth by having their Top 7 runners all finish inside the Top 15, including three in the Top 10. Glendale posted a total time of 1:37.52 with an average finish of 19:34. Moorpark College would finish in second place, boasting three Top 10 finishes and totaling 51 points to Glendale's 40. Ventura College would finish third with a solid total time of 1:41.03. 

In the second race of the day, the Men's 4-Mile course, saw Glendale's Marcelo Ramirez claim the individual title with a time of 20:56.53. Santa Monica College's Leonard McComas was hot on his heels with a time of 20:59.30, while Oxnard College's Ricardo Torres finished in third with a time of 21:07.70. 

In the Men's team scores, Glendale dominated totaling just 35 points, with four of their seven runners finishing in the Top 10. The Vaqueros posted a total time of 1:48.15.10 and had an average individual time of 21:39.02. Oxnard College would come in second place with a total of 88 points, while the Cuesta College men held of Victor Valley College for third place with a score of 103.
