BAKERSFIELD, CA - It was a day of reflection, celebration, and appreciation at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex as the Bakersfield College Softball team honored its sophomore class during the final home game of the 2025 regular season. Despite falling 7–1 to a tough Cerritos team, the Renegades made sure the spotlight shined on their sophomores one last time in front of their home crowd.
Sophomore Brylee Bramhall gave the home crowd a memorable moment in the sixth inning, launching a solo home run over left field—her final regular season homer at home. Bramhall finished the game 2-for-4, responsible for both BC's only run and one of the team's seven total hits.
Freshmen Sadie Salas, Aliya Perez, Serenity Angulo, Isabella Harrison, and Jennifer Padilla each recorded a hit.
In the circle, Serenity Angulo (6–8) battled through 4.1 innings, while Alexia Martinez closed out the game with 2.2 innings of relief. Though the Cerritos offense managed to capitalize with timely hits—including three home runs.
Perez also added a stolen base and made several standout plays in center field. Salas and Harrison each held it down in the infield, with Salas recording three putouts and two assists at shortstop.
Despite the final score, the day was about more than a game. It was about celebrating growth, commitment, and the legacy these sophomores leave behind. The game concluded with a short ceremony to recognize the impact and commitment of the program's second-year student-athletes, many of whom played key roles on and off the field over the past two seasons.
With only road games left on the season, Bakersfield (19–17) will keep focusing on finishing strong and hopefully come out on top of the conference. Currently, the team is tied with Citrus for winning the Western State Conference.
