
Gallegos, Anderson, and Boxley Highlight WSC Blue Awards
The 2015 Western State Conference Blue Division Awards were announced recently. College of the Canyons’ Lauren Anderson was named the Player of the Year, while Citrus College’s Anissa Gallegos and Jackie Boxley claimed the Pitcher and Coach of the Year nods.

Anderson led the entire WSC in batting average, hitting a robust .562. Anderson was also third in RBI's (54) and second in home runs (12). Anderson also led the way in on-base percentage (.613), slugging (1.031), doubles (19), and 10th in runs scored (55).
Gallegos meanwhile was second in the entire WSC in ERA, leading the Blue Division with a 2.20 ERA. Gallegos was second in wins (23), and fourth in strikeouts (78). Of pitchers in the WSC with at least 100 innings of work, Gallegos was fourth in fewest walks, handing out just 38 in over 181 innings of work.
Boxley took the Citrus College Softball team to it's second straight WSC Blue title. It's the third in program history, and their first outright conference title since 2007. The Owls finished the season 30-9 overall, 18-3 in WSC Blue play, and earned the #4 seed in the upcoming CCCAA Playoffs where they will host San Bernardino Valley
