With Moorpark College's double-overtime victory over Cuesta College and Ventura College's win over Oxnard College both on Saturday, the two schools clinched the 2016 Western State Conference North Division Men's Basketball Championship. It's the sixth WSC North title for Moorpark and the 13th for Ventura.

Ventura got the day started in their early afternoon 86-81 victory over rival Oxnard College. Jason Wilson and Elijah Brown each had 20 points in the win. It's the Pirates first conference championship since 2013, and it's just the second time they've shared a conference championship with another WSC North school.

With the Ventura victory in the books, everything came down to the evening title between Moorpark and Cuesta who each sat a half game back of the Pirates after their win against the Condors. It took two overtimes, but eventually the Raiders prevailed over the Cougars. Sophomore Larry Bush scored 39 points in the win. It's the first WSC North title for Moorpark since 2007.
