BC’s English is POY while WLAC’s Jones is COY

Bakersfield College sophomore win Jaylunn English was named the Western State Conference South Division Player of the Year today. West Los Angeles College Head Coach Anthony Jones was named the divisions Coach of the Year. 

English averaged 17.9 points per game for the fourth place Renegades in 2017-2018. English also averaged 6.3 rebounds and two assists a contest. English shot 41.9% from the floor and 71.1% from the free-throw line. English is the fourth straight Bakersfield player to be named WSC South Player of the Year. 

Jones led his Wildcats crew to the program's first title since 2006. West LA finished 18-10 overall this past season, including a 6-2 record in WSC South play. Jones is the third West LA coach in the Wildcat history to be named Coach of the Year, following in the foot steps of Charles Sands in 1997 and Ernie Carr in 2006.
