North Champ Oxnard Takes Three of Top Four Awards

Western State Conference North Division Conference Champion Oxnard College, took home three of the top four awards this in Men's Soccer recently. Sophomore Erik Lopez was named the Offensive Player of the year, while sophomore Noah Dollenmayer was the conferences Defensive Player of the Year. Head Coach Ross Greaney rounded out the three major awards by being named the Coach of the Year. Santa Monica College sophomore keeper Togan Aydin Kose rounded out the awards by being named the Goalkeeper of the Year in the conference.

Lopez led the entire conference in goals scored in 2019, putting 13 past an opposing keeper. Lopez also assisted an eight scores, for a conference leading 34 total points. Dollenmayer meanwhile helped lock down a defense that allowed the second fewest goals in the entire conference, 24. The Oxnard defense posted a season GAA of 1.00 and posted nine shutouts. Dollenmayer also slotted home a pair of scores for good measure.

Greaney earned the honors for the eighth time in his career. Greaney led the Condors to their ninth overall conference championship, going 17-4-3 overall and 6-1-3 in conference play. Oxnard earned 21 points, seven points clear of the two teams tied for second place Santa Monica and Allan Hancock.

Kose quarterbacked the stingiest defense in the conference, notching 71 saves and posting a.789 save percentage. His 0.92 GAA was the top mark in the conference, and was the sixth best in the entire State for keepers with at least 18 appearances.
