The race for the 2015 Western State Conference South Division Women's Basketball crown came all the way down to the final day of competition. At the end of the night, Bakersfield College stood at the top of the heap, as they best second place Antelope Valley College 52-43.

The Renegades had already clinched at least a share of the conference title on Wednesday when they held off College of the Canyons 77-72. Still the Renegades could lay claim to a solo title when they played host to Antelope on Saturday. Bakersfield overcame 34 turnovers, by pounding Antelope on the glass outrebounding them 49-39 and holding the Marauders to just 1 of 21 shooting from the 3-point line. Claesey Tarver led all scorers with 12 points, a total matched by teammate Rosebrooke Hunt who came off the bench for Bakersfield.

It's just the third WSC title for the Renegades in program history. Bakersfield's first conference crown was won all the way back in 1987, when the Renegades went 19-9 overall and 9-2 in conference play. More recently, Bakersfield shared the title with College of the Canyons back in 2012. Bakersfield closed out its 2014-2015 regular season with a 22-4 overall record and 11-3 mark in conference play.
